All 3 models of Seltz D AC are fitted in the same way. The Seltz D AC pump is fitted with a base and suckers. This allows easy fixing and silent operation. For fixing in a sump submerged we recommend that the Seltz D AC is fitted so that there are no kinks in the tubing and that the pump is not touching the glass. Positioning should also take into consideration ease of maintenance. For using the pump as a surface or "dry" pump, first you must remove the front pump covers and screw in the hosetail provided into the front intake. Then screw in the other hosetail in the outlet at the top of the pump. Fix the pump with the suckers on a flat surface. Connect the piping avoiding kinks. Please note that for the Seltz D AC to run in the "dry" operation the inlet should be lower than the water supply you are pumping from. This allows the pump to flood and expels any air making the pump prime and work efficiently. The controller should be fitted outside the sump or aquarium and in a dry position. A hanging eye is moulded into the controller for easy mounting. Seltz D AC pumps are fitted with a water sensor so if the pump has no water passing through it, it will automatically shutdown therefore avoiding potential pump failure.
