All 3 models of Seltz D POND AC are fitted in the same way. The Seltz D POND AC pump is fitted with a base and rubber feet. This makes the pump easy to mount. For submerged use Hydor recommend that the pump is sat on a brick or flat stone so that the pump is approximately 20- 30 cm below the water the Seltz D POND AC is fitted so that there are no kinks in the tubing and that the pump is not touching any other surfaces other than the base. Positioning should also take into consideration ease of accessibility for maintenance. The controller should be mounted in a dry location preferably within a weatherproof box to prevent water ingress. For using the pump as a surface or "dry" pump, Hydor recommend that pumps are contained in a Pump box/chamber, this allows the controller and transformer to be mounted safely outside. A hanging hook is moulded into the controller for easy mounting. For using the pump as a surface or "dry" pump, first you must remove the front pump covers and screw in the hosetail provided into the front intake. Then screw in the other hosetail in the outlet at the top of the pump. Fix the pump on a flat surface. Connect the piping avoiding kinks. Please note that for the Seltz D POND AC to run in the "dry" operation the inlet should be lower than the water supply you are pumping from. This allows the pump to flood and expels any air making the pump prime and work efficiently. Seltz D POND AC pumps are fitted with a water sensor so if the pump has no water passing through it, it will automatically shutdown therefore avoiding potential pump failure.
